I also noticed that HR professionals often asked for experience of working in an organisation. This ignored lived experiences. Some people do not work in equality and diversity. They live it.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is often wrongly left to those in Human Resources.
This is unfair delegation and not practicable. I recognised that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion is not just for Human Resource Departments, but everybody has a role to play. It is everyone’s responsibility, including Communications and Public Relations.
This was why I decided to start my own Equity and Diversity consultancy. Some of my work appears as a collage inside the letters for Exclusive Inclusion.
