Marcus Rashford visiting FareShare in Manchester
About Me
My inspirations
Here are some of my inspirations for people with lived experiences of Equality and Diversity.
Marcus Rashford did not work in Human Resources or learn about equality and diversity from a qualification. He campaigned for food vouchers for children because of his own experiences of being hungry as a child. I admire his drive to supply the equivalent of three million meals, highlight the damage caused by the ‘invisible issue of food insecurity’, and change government policy.
This is why I am proud to admire and be inspired by the work of Fareshare which creates a fairer society by tackling food poverty, and delivering food to vulnerable people in need in the United Kingdom.

Another inspiration to show that everyone has a role to play for equality and diversity are the women who worked as sewing machinists to make car seat covers in a motor company in Dagenham. They were paid less then men and changed equal pay legislation after their work was recognised as unskilled. They campaigned for equal pay and to have their work recognised as skilled.
